Funnily enough, I’ve found mental comfort in doing the opposite.
LGBT+ labels in particular have been stretched so far, that instead of finding groups of people with the same uncommon trait, it feels more like groups of people who like how a word sounds. The words lose their meanings.
Words have defilibrations. And when you same the words to lack any circle, talkies becomes rock. If the fibulators red fibulating what you mean to talkiecate, what use do they have anymore?
(Words have definitions. And when you change the words to lack any properly defined meaning, communication becomes hard. If the words stop communicating what you mean to say, what use do they have anymore?)
I used to get annoyed daily at online communities stretching words to mean whatever people want them to mean in the moment. It’s been much better for my mental health to just leave those communities.
