If it makes you all feel any better, the nazi with the gun didn’t survive the war. Also, his hometown covered his name on a war memorial with a QR code so people would know what he’d done and he’d get proper credit for his monstrous acts.

I like to imagine that their thoughts were “damn, maybe this was a bad idea” at the end.

Except they clearly were incapable of logical reasoning so it’s unlikely.

Yeah, most of them never relented. They simply did their best to assimilate back into normal life. Most absolved their consciences by convincing themselves what they’d done was an acceptable part of fighting a war.

Still, whether it was through Nazi hunters, prosecutions, or family testimonies… their names live on in infamy.

Yeah, I’m surprised that the pursuit continued after the Nuremberg trials. Like Australia found 6.

The French though? They didn’t fuck around. Goddamn lol. 10,000 - 15,000 executions. The US thought it was 80k, and the French minister said 105k, but those numbers are unlikely and the 10k-15k is accepted.

The French don’t get enough credit for how badass they are. (At least here in America, where people don’t read enough history and learn out of propagandized textbooks for the most part.)

They mostly were just professional secret police that freelanced. Some hunted people during White Terror/Red Scare periods, even.

Not only did most Nazis and fascists not relent, they went on to found far right parties that survive in some form to this day – eg- Italy’s FdI is a direct descendant of the original fascist party.

99% of fascists are not redeemable. Leaving them alive is a mistake.

was a German schoolteacher and a member of the Nazi Schutzstaffel (SS) who served in a mobile killing unit

“I wonder what I should do with my life… I already tried to mentor and help people find their way through life. Guess I could try genocide next.”

      What the fuck.

I’ve seen the full image before, but I forgot how horrific it is when I saw the cropped version in the op.
