The “well” is 27 meters deep with 135 steps. It has 9 levels and a maze of tunnels leading off from the bottom.

I was under the impression it called itself an ‘underground tower’.
I heard it refered to as an inverted tower.
The protagonist in Annihilation called it a tower too, even though everyone else thought of it as a tunnel
