Many students would rather try to figure it out than sound stupid in class or risk the spotlight of social interaction.
This ignores the entire premise of the experiment. The 39% were not interested in learning regardless of the consequences.

A lot of this comment section does apparently lol

This is discussed in the article
Somebody only read the article title… Give the actual text a look to see it boldly claims the connection to political system is not strongly linked.

I think you may have missed the bottom text

Regardless of whether it’s the producer or someone else along the supply chain, the prices are able to stay up because the consumer will pay the increase price. At the source or not, that’s my only point

It’s not even necessarily unfucking either. When distributors and producers learn a new higher price consumers will pay, it’s very easy for them to default to that price. They can just increase prices to match what it was with tariffs and nothing changes except more profit for the producers. We consumers wouldn’t even realize it since we’re so far removed from the source.

Yep, this has been my own argument for many years. I believe that if you ban lobbying alone, the rest will cascade.
Ever thrown a ball at a wall sideways instead of directly in front of you?

Oligarchy

Why not just bulk up on stock and then raise prices without necessarily needing to to maximize profits but blaming the tariffs as of day one? I don’t see why this wouldn’t happen
There’s tired, and then there’s sleepy. For me, if I’m not sleepy, there’s about a 5% chance I will be able to fall asleep upon going to bed. I remember plenty of nights in high school going to bed “early” around 10pm, and sure enough I’m still awake at 2am. So first off there’s ability to sleep when needed.
Second, the modern perspective contains a lot of blue light in daily lives that prevents melatonin secretion. Few kids have the self control and presence of mind to properly regulate their screen time at night, even if just from TV, not to mention phones.
Realistically just with the second point, the cards are stacked against them.
The industrial mechanisms that promote climate change would not die with capitalism.
