Privacy@programming.dev•‘I Felt Super Violated’: Men Wearing Meta Glasses on Dates Is an Instant Red Flag
2·14 days agoPlease do not mistake my attempt at explanations as endorsements of the explanation.
The line between comfort and fear is a sentence. So to the first question, sometimes. A date is about feeling out a person, so fear is certainly a part of the equation at times.
Regarding a man being afraid of a date with a woman, probably due to a perpetually-online mindset that false-accusations are commonplace? That’s the best I can come up with.
In general, I think you’re right to be skeptical, but hype and fear sell. Reasonable rationality does not.
What is a “script of binary”? That description makes no sense. Why is the phrasing in this post so odd?

THE POLICE PROBLEM@lemmy.world•Victim reports his father missing. Police instead interrogated him for 17 hours, said they killed his dog, and withheld his meds from the victim. Victim tried to commit suicide in the room.English
1·2 years agoWhen I see this, I don’t only see this man, I see every man, woman, and child who interacted with this police precinct.
How many current prisoners were put in prison by this type of psychological torture?
How many of those prisoners weren’t as lucky as this man to have undeniable evidence of innocence?
How many citizens going about their day pull off the road when they spot a police car in their rear view mirror due to terrifying encounters shared by neighbors?
Fascist morons. Morons seem particularly useful to fascists, they love being the boot and they are too stupid to look up and see an even larger boot ready to crush them when they step out of line.

I mean, what he exposed came with proof. There is no believe or disbelieve. It’s not religion, there is no faith. He made an assertion and proved it with evidence.
If you think that the government doesn’t need to follow the laws and that they are immune, then yes I can see why what he did would seem negative.
But if you believe the government should also follow its own laws, I have difficulty understanding your objection.
The information is the information, focus on the man is only a distraction.
A cat leaked it. A dinosaur leaked it. Hitler was resurrected and leaked it while riding a flying pig. Snowden leaked it and fled to Russia.
It makes no difference, the information is the information regardless of the catalyst.
Before Snowden, the US government was thought to obey its own laws, though obviously not always (for better or worse). After Snowden, we finally had confirmation that violations are commonplace and intentionally hidden.
