In Chinese usage, the cuckold (or wittol) is said to be “戴綠帽子” dài lǜmàozi, translated into English as ‘wearing the green hat’. The term is an allusion to the sumptuary laws used from the 13th to the 18th centuries that required males in households with prostitutes to wrap their heads in a green scarf (or later a hat).
In 2007 I went to a hockey game. They gave away a hat. It says “Lake Erie Monsters”.
Now, today the team has been renamed. It’s now the Cleveland Monsters.
Point is, it’s a red hat, with white text, and I haven’t been able to wear it since 2016 despite having nothing to do with trump or politics.
I just like hockey. And my hat is RUINED!!!

I was just trying to be a better person when I joined the buddhist Kentucky Karma Klub and we got our matching tattoos, but FML, I guess.
I’ve been a 49ers fan for more than 30 years, thanks to these assholes now a white guy in a red hat is immediately suspect. I tend to wear the white one with red accents more often just so folks don’t get the wrong idea.
