- extrajudicial killings (e.g. via drone strikes) are “liquidations” or targets being “neutralised”.
- torture is “enhanced interrogation techniques”.
I wish I were making this shit up, but most of this vocabulary is from the Bush era. That goes to ahow: while there are certain differences in both quality and quantity, blatant lies to the public have always been a hallmark of (U.S.) governments.
