My nest pucks tests themselves every month. Its quite nice. They beep and check if the others can hear it.

Surprised they still work. Nest smoke alarms are a dead product. Find something better now to replace them with.

They were amazing tech created by a Boulder start-up to reinvent home safety, but Google murdered them.

      Already EOL and discontinued.

They work, and beautifully at that. Supported by both the nest app and googles own home app.

Why replace them. Not like the sensors in there will stop working any time soon. They have a 10 year shelf life

They promoted the slop-machine with “Scandinavian apartment” didn’t they?

          • Norway are playing England in the football
          • Ireland historically dislikes England
          • The room being painted like that is very heavy-handedly implying that the Dublin fire brigade is supporting Norway because they want England to lose

I get the feeling many modern smoke detectors (In the US anyhow) monitor more than smoke and carbon monoxide. The ones I’ve seen in apartments are built like tanks and are around 5x the size of a hockey puck. They have an LED light constantly flashing green with a red every ten or so. I’m betting they could easily install cameras types and nobody would think twice.

In my last apartment, I got up close to it one night and saw the product branding. It was “KIDEEZ”. What the actual fuck?
