How exactly does a country getting attacked by two others “make peace”? They were fucking at peace until you attacked them!

I want the us proper to get bombed, when war is finally on your land maybe you’ll stop being such warmongers.

War is always fought on someone else’s home, so of course Americans never fully see the horrors of war first hand. It’s time they learned

When 9/11 happened it had the opposite effect. We’d just lash out at the most convenient target and give up more rights for “security” and fascism.

    Eat shit America

I wouldn’t mind it if you guys were just destroying yourselves but your stupidity is going to drive the entire world into chaos because you really, really, really want to hold on to the dumbest leader imaginable.

Trump’s not the problem … you all are!

You can take a copy of your constitution, roll it up tightly into a long tube, cover it with Saudi oil and shove it up your ass

Canada is right on par with the US on tons of atrocities. Everywhere there’s humans you’re going to see a history of mass murder.

Maybe quit jerking yourself off and blaming people who have zero control over the situation.

Canada has a terrible legacy of atrocities, no doubt about that, but they are simply not powerful enough to have caused the insane amounts of worldwide wreckage that the USA has done

Everywhere there’s humans you’re going to see a history of mass murder.

This is the real jerking yourself off and avoiding responsibility

Yep, some random individuals on Lemmy have the power to stop a rogue US government. I’m totally avoiding that responsibility because I’m just too lazy, or warmongering, or whatever the reason is this week.

I didnt vote for this. Dunno why you’re lumping us all in with the idiots who did. Trump barely won the popular vote by 1%. Hell, Last week we had one of the largest protests in the nation’s history. You think we’re just all sitting on our thumbs while dipshit orange Mcgee golfs?

It’s the general frustration with the formerly united states, and even many of the citizens now protesting are also at fault for that: many people (me included) are appalled / disgusted by the exceptionalism of your country, where it’s burned into your brains from a young age that somehow, you are the “chosen people” and that modesty is such an alien concept to many of your citizens. It’s why most people in the civilized world have such a dislike for your countrypeople, similar to the disgust for German, Russian & English tourists in the Mediterranean area, who mostly also do not know how to behave modestly. The thought that “muricans” are somehow special is a big factor in dehumanizing people all over the world to the point where your military doesn’t have too many moral quirms about murdering people abroad.

Whoever said the U.S. is the chosen people? I get there are problems with American Exceptionalism, but I’ve never heard anybody say the former. If you want to talk about “the chosen people” you dont have to look very far (Israel). Every country has issues, you’re just honestly starting to sound racist with your rants.

I think you do not understand the differences between

            1. an analogy and literality - although there’s a lot of dumb idiots who have called the D.S. (nothing united there, don’t pretend) “God’s own country”
            2. racism and anti-imperialism: first of all, human races do not exist except in the dumb minds of racists. Second, citizens of the D.S. are of a bazillion different ethnicities

Races are a social construct, sure i agree. Does not mean that racism doesn’t exist. And im from the U.S., you think you’re being smart telling me about my own country, but you’re not. Maybe a better word for what you’re being is a bigot rather than racist. Glad we had this talk. I hope I never encounter you again on this website.

Does not mean that racism doesn’t exist.

Correct. Racism is the belief that races exist. Hence it is not applicable / not a suitable allegation towards my comment. And yes, bigot might be a better allegation, but it still isn’t a very suitable one. I gave you my answer to your questoin why you (“y’all”) are being lumped in with all the idiots. Take it or leave it. But I’ll elaborate a bit:

It’s a general problem and while people in your country aren’t born less or more dumb or evil than elsewhere in the world, your country surely has taken the lead in tearing down the thin veil of civilization in favor of totalitarianism and institutionalized mass murder (i.e. capitalism). This is not a problem isolated to your country, we have the same bullshit and fuckheads in Europe, just currently less morons in the average population who drank that cool-aid. Tendency is not looking good though. If people are fed up with the D.S. in general, it’s in part trying to avoid looking at the pile of dung on their own doorstep, and in part because of the attitude of superiority coming from “murica”. Also reflected by way overproportional flooding of irrelevant bickering from your country in international news.

A large portion of the humans suffering from murica’s (wannabe) exceptionalism live in that very country. My personal aversion to “murica” (which I use as a pejorative term to distinguish your country from the continent of north america, having three countries) is that it’s a waste of my time to argue with people where the brainwash / brain damage has been done, even if it’s not their fault. If we still want to salvage anything from this mess, we need to focus on the people who can be reasoned with. And currently, there are not many of that type left in your country.

And im from the U.S., you think you’re being smart telling me about my own country, but you’re not.

Again, you misspelled “D.S.”. And honestly, I don’t care what you think. We have bigger problems in the world right now, thanks to toxic masculinity and some shithead billionaires running your military.

They’re being bigoted. They’re also on the right side of the issue, which often blinds bigots to the root of prejudice. Being justified on a position and having an understandable viewpoint does not validate prejudice. But that self righteous feeling is often overwhelming.

Is this like how most of US claims to have single handedly won two world wars, is keeping the world peace, and rest of the world should just do what they say or pay the price?

          That kinda bigoted?

I think it’s more of a “good riddance, you ate the propaganda wholesale without any thought and now leopard ate your face”

Yes, fair. I don’t even disagree with the sentiment of their argument. But acting like the entire U.S. is somehow in on this mess is completely misreading the situation. A lot of us here are just as angry as he is for very similar reasons.

I get how you are feeling. We don’t want this and we are doing what we can and trying to figure out more to do. Add to this that not everyone is ok with sacrificing thier lives or ending others lives and their are only so many options. Even leaving its like, oh so great then the us has even less reasonable people and the administration has more carte blanche to do what they want.
