Whether he dies, whether he’s actually impeached and whether he does not try to install a third term. What should, pray hoping, a sane and reasonable president of the united states do when they’re sworn in?
I think the president should take an entire year, bandaging, repairing and strengthening all and any ties with allies they’ll somehow have remaining.
I was going to about say codify laws for them not to be messed with, but even codified laws can still be messed with. There must be a new way to instill laws that not even Congress can touch and fuck with. That no President after this one can touch. That no Supreme Court of any kind can touch.
Because what good will codifying something do if it’s going to be overturned? We’ve witnessed that a few times. They would have to be part of the constitution at this point.
Obviously the next president that would-be, would have to spend another year and a half, rolling back, making their own executive orders to undo what shitstain has done.
I just feel like that, we need to stop the see-sawing actions of how politics are done in America. We need a president that means business. But, it appears to me that kind of president is all but imaginary.
Immediately throw everyone in this administration in prison without bail until they stand trial. Every ice officer should be charged as well
Burn it all down. A country that re-elected Donald Trump is not worth saving. Every square foot of it. Burn.
Meh. On second thought, deport all the whites to random countries — they can be held El Salvador while the destinations are preparing to accept them — and give it back to the native people. Much better.
Here are some brief goals that could improve the country.
Go through this list and ratify any treaties that are still relevant.

Build a new city with homes and opportunities pro bono.
Guarantee right to repair with complete access to all relevant source code, parts and schematics.
Eliminate gerrymandering and enforce ranked choice voting for all spheres of government.
Eliminate the commoditization of essential goods and services (such as food, water, homes, education and healthcare).
Enrich public transportation to the level of Japan.
Only do business with entities that respect humanity and ecological life.
If it were me, personally, I’d prioritize every effort on putting as many of the people who broke the law in jail as possible, especially via state courts, and remove everyone who acted in an authoritarian fashion who did not explicitly break the law. And when I say prioritize, I mean we’re cutting budgets from other departments to fund hundreds of more judges, hundreds of more investigators, hundreds of more prosecutors. Failing to do that was Biden’s biggest mistake. He wanted to govern with gentleman’s agreements and cordiality like a normal president. But the rules don’t exist unless they’re enforced, so it’s time to enforce them.
Try Clarence Thomas for treason against the United States.
Turn Pete Hegseth over to the ICC for war crimes.
Seize all of Kushner’s assets and launch an investigation into the entire Trump family for financial fraud.
Would be a good Day 1
Prosecute the current one for his crimes, but we all know that won’t happen.
The current one isn’t likely to face justice in his lifetime. It’s not worth trying to hold him accountable: let history be the judge.
However we have tens of thousands of criminals who have not put themselves above the law, are not at deaths door. All those people who denied human rights, issued illegal orders, violated government data protections, enriched themselves are within the reach of justice. Let’s start with the cabinet and the orange family, and work our way down to every ice agent, including effing billionaires buying votes and interfering with government
Sign an EO banning members of Congress and their immediate family from trading in individual stocks. Let them fight it in court and explain why it’s okay for them to engage in inside trading.
-
Immediately reverse domestically regressive policies.
-
Foreign affairs? I’m afraid cats out of the bag. No ones trusting the US in the same way again. Start the process of patching up relations but it’s going to take much longer than one presidential term.
-
Find a way to actually improve the material conditions of the average American. Trying to use laws to prevent another Trump is not going to work. Demagogues thrive in an environment typically defined by unease or insecurity. If people feel that their lives are improving they don’t fall for it as easily.
-
Be competent.

President of the United States? At this point I’m OK with president of the Coalition of Blue States.
Build a huge dome over the country with no gaps made of a magic indestructable substance and then set off all their nukes turning the entire country into a sheet of glass.
Finally, some peace and quiet.
As a Texan with no hope of ever being able to leave the country: please. I’m ready for it to be over.
Let us leave first geez
I didn’t elect President Glass The States, don’t look at me! Maybe you can compromise with her.
Abuse power in the same way trump is, ignore laws, and do so with the effort to actually make the country decent.
That will never happen though. Instead if we get a dem president (which I doubt there’s going to even be a fair election) it’ll be right back to the crap they always do. No progress, and by the next republican president we’d definitely be a full dictatorship. But we’re already at that point so this is just pointless hypotheticals. It’s going to be a long and dark decade+ for the US and I doubt it’s going to survive as a single country by 2035.
Constitutions are just documents. The US one isn’t bad, save for a few amendments. A constitution only works well if the people in the three branches act within the spirit of it. Once you get people in who DGAF you see all the breaking points in the system that are normally papered over by decorum and moral standards. And those are things you cannot necessarily write into laws. The exception to that is the way political parties and campaigns are funded; that’s definitely something that should be addressed.
It doesn’t really matter who will be the next US president. They won’t be the leader of the free world any more. They will be increasingly isolated on the world stage and dealing with a domestic landscape somewhere between unbelievably fractured and civil war.
President is only as strong as his control of Congress.
Obama had a super majority going in, and barely got the ACA passed.
Does not matter what figurehead people vote for, the winner is always the permanent state (pentagon, cia, fbi), mic, silicon valley and wallstreet. Revolution forces change, nothing else will.
I expect it’ll be another center right neolib so nothing substantial
But I would love to see all of the Gestapo dragged out and prosecuted for their crimes
