There’s a fun short video of the BBC’s coverage of the royal funeral that someone dubbed over with the audio of the BBC’s coverage of the Kim funeral.

How exactly does the private vote thing work? I thought votes being federated was inherent to the way the fediverse is designed.

It would make sense to grandfather in existing cars or have an exception for old-timers, but “someone stamped it, whatever” is just begging for abuse.
Aqarius@lemmy.worldtoMicroblog Memes@lemmy.world•A devious interview (more images in post)English18·6 days agoIt’s not even IT itself. I vaguely remember some fruit juice company changing its name from “fruit juice” to “fruit juice blockchain” or something, and doing nothing else, and it’s stock price jumping by 3x. The stock market somehow got into its head that tech companies play by fundamentally different rules than normal, are worth inherently more, never have to make profit or even a product, and will someday all be money printing monopolies.

Aqarius@lemmy.worldtoPolitical Memes@lemmy.world•Immigrants might be in camps, but at least you 3rd party/nonvoters have your sense of moral superiority!6·7 days agoThat much is true, but I don’t think I wouldn’t call this “good comedy”, and judging from the replies in the thread - OP included - I don’t think it’s intended as a joke either, mild or otherwise. It is kinda amusing, in that victory is presented as always impossible, but I doubt that was intentional. This isn’t goodnatured ribbing, this is more, as the kids say, bait.

Kinda makes me wonder if maybe some of the people currently not worth talking to were previously subjected to a similar talking to.

Point is, taking every observation personally is missing the forest from the trees. Objecting to overuse of cars is an objection to a systemic issue (usually insufficientpublic transport), and it won’t be solved by individual action. Responding to it with “Well, I need a car, actually…” is missing the point. Same with delivery: getting into a “well, I can’t walk to food” “well, you should cook”, “well, I …” is missing the point of “there’s a whole mess of traffic that’s both expensive and has been managed without earlier - that’s weird, wonder what changed to cause it?”

Frankly, it’s what I did, too, after coming out of Uni-level C.
My code was goddamn unreadable.
