I’ve been noticing that a lot recently; people keep deflecting discussions of racism into discussing races.
It allows people who want to smokescreen for racists to avoid leaving solid evidence they themselves are racist. It’s essentially an advanced dogwhistle.
Is that not subjective, though?
1·3 days agoIt’s genius in how vague it is, because it’s up to your interpretation, which they can always dodge and say they meant something else.
I think the strongest possibilities are they are either stretching the definition of “innocent” to include people who [REDACTED] kids (as one of their recent goal posts is that it’s normal for people in power), or priming the subconscious narrative that the evidence has been fabricated, as Trump has recently started claiming.

We are still a very rich country. We just choose to use that money on bombing brown people and arresting dissidents rather than ensuring we have good healthcare and educated citizens.
