Obsessing over women’s armpit stubble is just an armpit fetish with extra steps. And less self-awareness.

I mean, my wife usually has more armpit hair than I do. I gotta shave mine off or the stink germs breed there. She’s lucky she smells like unicorn farts and moon dust.

Where the hair?! That’s shaven, but not to extreme levels of wax that shit into oblivion this morning. Hollywood and porn industry basically since 90s has just brainwashed society into believing body hair is disgusting and weird. For some reason. It’s also especially funny when you descend into “Hairy” section of the porn and it’s just normal women with normal levels of body hair. Like, not even full yeti, just some armpit hair and a bit of a bush downstairs. That’s not “hairy”, that’s just “normal” woman.

Firstly be what makes YOU comfortable, then look for what others might care. I’ve tried shaving fully to silky smooth levels and it’s really not comfortable in a lot of places of body.

just want to remind people that humans have been shaving various areas of their bodies for thousands of years. they did it in ancient Rome. we’ve probably been removing body hair for much longer than that even. it’s not a modern thing it’s just the fashion right now. personally idgaf whether other people remove their body hair or not. I like to though, it feels nice and makes me feel sexy.

When I want to treat myself, I shave, exfoliate and moisturise my legs, and change my bedsheets. It’s divine.

I used to shave my legs because of the nebulous patriarchal pressure that many girls and women experience. But now I do it for good reasons and it’s much more liberating

THANK YOU. The idea that this is some new trend drives me nuts. I wanna add on that waxing hair for aesthetics is even older than shaving; it’s extremely difficult to get a shaving edge with bronze tools (and shaving with flint sucks), but you can make sugaring paste with honey - and there’s evidence of it being done for beauty at least 6,000 years ago. There’s plenty of evidence that it was common in ancient egypt, rome, greece, china…

I don’t think it’s the removal of body hair that is seen as “new”. It’s the way it’s ridiculed like in this post when there’s a tiny bit of stubble lol and it’s worth mentioning.

Though I wouldn’t say that’s new either, it’s just more and more widespread the wider the communication methods have become. But this isn’t “new” even in the modern world for Hollywood, it’s online now with the wider reach but this stuff has existed for as long as we’ve been photographing celebrities lol.

You’re right about farther back than ancient Rome. A few months ago I went to a mummy’s tomb exhibit from ancient Egypt. People considered shaving so important they were buried with their razors so they could shave in the afterlife. Not just faces either, body and head hair were not spared.

It’s weird how Carpenter was essentially a nobody until she shifted into her current style. Shows how important your style/branding is. Also, Would.

Thanks for showing you care by taking the time to comment. And for creating a paradox, because now if the reader is to live their “own motherfucking lives, ya twats”, they will be following your directive, and caring for what you think, and thusly not living their “own motherfucking lives, ya twats” Their only option otherwise is to not live their “own motherfucking lives, ya twats” as their individual expression, yet that too would be not living their “own motherfucking lives, ya twats”. Perhaps they will need to return for more advice on living their “own motherfucking lives, ya twats”.

It’s like when Tom Morello asks the audience to sing along and they’re all like “Fuck you I won’t do what you tell me” and he’s like “Wtf this is Renegades of Funk”.

Personally I shave mine because my pits start smelling quickly when the hair gets to like 5 CM or so. Despite using a decent antiperspirant.

I don’t keep it super short though and give zero ducks what other people do with theirs.

Should probably clarify. Personally my the view each their own long as your not doing it to please someone else. I was just making a flippant comment. I do apologise to anyone however that may have felt uncomfortable or targeted. Personal note tho not out of trying alot of folk i have been in relationships dont shave and i was more kinda shocked they are still having this convo in pop entertianment media land.

(dude here) Same. My pits smell pretty badly after a whole day in hot weather if they’re sporting bushes.

Also… yuck. I don’t know, I just don’t like hair anywhere other than the head + eyebrows + eyelashes. If there was a magical procedure that eliminates 100% of all the other body hair forever, I’d go for it without a second thought. We really don’t need it since the invention of clothing.

The thing is body hair has a purpose but aesthetics has taken over that. I don’t think it’s weird either way to keep it or shave/wax it. Everyone has it because it’s the way the human body is designed and like everything else on our bodies, we get to choose what to do with it 🤷‍♀️
