No, religion as a concept is incompatible with civilized life. Christianity, Islam, Judaism, Hinduism etc. all make human life on earth objectively worse. My supervisor is a lesbian who proudly introduces people to her wife, and she is as rabid a Trumper as I’ve ever met. I’ve tried to introduce her to the “Leopards Eating People’s Faces Party” concept but she doesn’t understand the point. She has somehow concluded that it is Republicans who have fought for and won gay rights (like the right to marry that she’s a beneficiary of) while Democrats want to take those rights away. I don’t have any idea how somebody gets to a mental state like that - I can’t accuse her of drinking the Kool-Aid because no Republican media says anything like that.
